Anthony John "Tony" Ward (1924 – 9 May 2006) was an Australian television actor, director and producer and journalist. He is regarded as Australian television's original action star, on Hunter, and was an inaugural reporter on two national current affairs programs, Seven Days and A Current Affair.

His career encompassed medicine, the theatre, television, documentary making, banana-growing and antique prints. His interests included the Rolls-Royce Bentley Owners Club, trains, theatre organs, Manly ferries and roses.

Tony Ward was born in Santa Cruz, California on June 10, 1963, to Robert Borden Ward, from Kansas, of Irish and Italian descent and Karen Elizabeth Castro of California, of Syrian and Sicilian descent. Ward is the second of three sons and spent his childhood mostly in San Jose before moving to Sonora where he graduated from high school.
