    Born in New York City, he began as a nightclub comedian and appeared in a number of films including Music for Millions, The Last of the Secret Agents, Buddy, Buddy as well making a non-singing role in the film Gypsy. Lessy also appeared on a number of television series including Telephone Time, The Ghost & Mrs Muir and

    Lessy passed away in 1992.

    Lessy sang a number of songs in his early film career, including "The Joint Is Really Jumpin' in Carnegie Hall" in Thousands Cheer and "On the 10:10 (From Ten-Ten-Tennessee)" in Just for You. He also performed a number of times during his time on The Danny Thomas Show including "Bye, Bye Blackbird" and "Tea for Two."
