After a handful of roles in British B-movies, South African-born Lester relocated to Hollywood and quickly made an impression as Mr Bingley in Pride & Prejudice (1940). Other roles came in The Letter (1940), A Yank In The RAF (1941), Golden Earrings (1947) and Tales Of Robin Hood (1947).
