Dilys Laye (born Dilys Lay; 11 March 1934 – 13 February 2009) was an English actress and singer, best known for her comedy roles, in which she was seen in the West End and on Broadway for more than fifty years, beginning in 1951.
Dilys Laye was a British actress who appeared in films, TV shows and stage plays. She was known for her roles in the "Carry On..." films, where she often co-starred with Joan Sims, and for playing Queen Elizabeth II in The Amazing Mrs Pritchard.

Her background and training in revue and a wide range of theatre made her a perfect addition to the Carry On team.
