Akkineni Laxmi Vara Prasada Rao (17 January 1907 – 22 June 1994), known professionally as L. V. Prasad, was an Indian film director, producer, actor, and businessman. He was one of the pioneers of Indian cinema and is the recipient of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest Award for films in India.

Story ~ L V Prasad. The Prasad Story. Prasad was drawn by the drums of the touring theaters and drama troupes. Old and worn out film prints used to be shown in ramshackle tents and Prasad used to regularly rush to watch them. He also used to do small roles in the local dramas regularly.
L.V. Prasad was born on 17 January 1908 in Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, India. He was a director and producer, known for Jai-Vijay (1977), Bidaai (1974) and Jeene Ki Raah (1969). He was married to Soundarya Manoharamma. He died on 22 June 1994.
