Mate Parlov (16 November 1948 – 29 July 2008) was a Croatian-Yugoslavian boxer and Olympic gold medalist who was European and World Champion as an amateur and as a professional. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] Parlov was voted the Best Balkan Athlete of the Year for 1974.
Mate Parlov ( Split, 16. studenoga 1948. – Pula, 29. srpnja 2008. ), bio je slavni hrvatski boksač i olimpijski, europski i svjetski osvajač zlatnog odličja za bivšu Jugoslaviju. U profesionalnoj karijeri osvojio je 1976. godine naslov europskog prvaka u poluteškoj kategoriji i naslov svjetskog prvaka u poluteškoj kategoriji po WBC -u 1978. godine.

Professional Boxer, Olympic Athlete. A native of Split, Croatia, he was the former WBC Light Heavyweight Champion in 1978. He defeated Miguel Angel Cuello on January 7, 1978 to win the title and relinquished it to Marvin Johnson on December 2, 1978.
