Mar 20, 2012 · Matt Mel Parnell, who led the AL in wins with 25 in 1949, passed away in 2012 after a long battle with cancer. He pitched a no-hitter in 1956, his last year in the big leagues, and was elected to the Red Sox Hall of Fame in 1997.
