LCM was founded in 1887 and existed as an independent music conservatoire based at Great Marlborough Street in central London until 1991. The college then moved to Ealing and became part of the Polytechnic of West London (which became Thames Valley University and was renamed the University of West London in 2011).
LCM is a leading music exam board and part of the University of West London. It offers exams and diplomas in various subjects, from piano to jazz, and new musical theatre routes for singers and actors.
LCM music exams are offered across a wide range of subjects, from Music Theory Grade 1 all the way to Grade 8 Singing, and everything in between.
London College of Music examinations in music, and in drama and communication, are held at centres worldwide. Our qualifications are unique in the graded exam sector in being awarded by a university.
