Yasushi Akutagawa (芥川 也寸志, Akutagawa Yasushi, July 12, 1925 – January 31, 1989) was a Japanese composer and conductor. His father was Ryūnosuke Akutagawa.
芥川 也寸志 （あくたがわ やすし、 1925年 （ 大正 14年） 7月12日 - 1989年 （ 平成 元年） 1月31日 ）は、 日本 の 作曲家 、 指揮者 。 JASRAC 元理事長。 作風[編集] 芥川也寸志の作風は大きく分けて3つに分かれる。 東京音楽学校を卒業後、快活な旋律とリズムで彩られた作風が魅力の第1期。 それらの要素を削ぎ落とし、減衰、静的な要素を取り入れた前衛的作風に転換した第2期。 そして第1期の快活明朗なるリズムを用いつつも、第2期以来の作風とクロスオーバーさせ、新たな世界への転換を図った第3期。 この区分においても共通するものに、彼自身の生涯のテーマとなる オスティナート の使用がある。

Yasushi Akutagawa Suntory Award for Music Composition. This prize was established in April 1990 with the support of the Japan Federation of Composers, and celebrates the achievements of the late Yasushi Akutagawa, who made significant contributions to the development of Western-style music in Japan in the post-war years.
