Midi Z (Chinese: 趙德胤; pinyin: Zhào Déyìn; Wade–Giles: Chao 4 Teh 2-in 4; born December 18, 1982) is a Myanmar-born Taiwanese film director. His 2014 film Ice Poison was selected as the Taiwanese entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 87th Academy Awards.
Midi Z. Director: The Road to Mandalay. Midi Z was born in Myanmar in 1982 and trained as an artist in Taiwan. His graduation film, Paloma Blanca, was acclaimed worldwide. In 2011, Midi made his first feature, Return to Burma, which was in Rotterdam Tiger Competition and Busan New Currents Competition.
