Antonio del Amo (1911–1991) was a Spanish screenwriter and film director. He enjoyed great commercial success in 1956 with The Little Nightingale starring the child star Joselito. This allowed him to found his own production company Apolo Films, based outside Madrid.
Antonio del Amo was born on 9 September 1911 in Valdelaguna, Madrid, Spain. He was a director and writer, known for Sierra maldita (1954), Our Man in Jamaica (1965) and Saeta del ruiseñor (1957). He died on 19 June 1991 in Madrid, Spain.

Antonio del Amo Algara (Valdelaguna, Madrid, September 9, 1911 - Madrid, June 19, 1991) was a Spanish film director, screenwriter and film essayist. He was maternal grandfather of director Rodrigo Sorogoyen, distant relative of director José Luis Madrid, and great-uncle of Mexican director Sebastián del Amo.
Sierra maldita: Directed by Antonio del Amo. With Rubén Rojo, Lina Rosales, José Guardiola, José Sepúlveda. A small Spanish town is divided between the upper and lower parts. The poor and the less-poor parts of the pueblo. In the 'upper' part, all the women are barren.
The Little Nightingale (Spanish: El pequeño ruiseñor) is a 1956 Spanish musical film directed by Antonio del Amo . It was the first film to star child singer Joselito. It skyrocketed him to fame.
