NOTES FROM UNDERGROUND (Watch Online) This is my adaptation of the seminal Dostoevsky novella, updated and relocated from 19th Century St. Petersburg to contemporary Los Angeles. The Underground Man uses a video camera as a confessional tool to reflect back on the most painful experience of his life, his one chance at love.
Adapted from Dostoevsky’s novella, Henry Czerny plays the narrator, Underground Man. Filled with self-hatred, he keeps a video diary where he discusses his own shortcomings and what he thinks is wrong in contemporary society.

Synopsis by Sandra Brennan. This adaptation of Dostoevsky's novella does an exceptional job of retaining the multi-textured richness of the original story about the intimate thoughts of an anonymous lonely building inspector known only as the Underground Man. Everything about the misanthropic civil servant is dull and unpleasant.
