Dolls ( Japanese: ドールズ, Hepburn: Dōruzu) is a 2002 Japanese film written, edited and directed by Japanese director Takeshi Kitano. A highly stylized art film, Dolls is part of Kitano's non- crime film oeuvre, like 1991's A Scene at the Sea, and unlike most of his other films, he does not act in it.

Synopsis: Dolls gathers three love stories inspired by a doll show from the Bunraku theater. In the first one, Matsumoto and Sawako are a happy couple, but pressure from their two families will force them to make a tragic choice.
Takeshi Kitano’s dolls is a drama, romance that deviated from his usual neo-noir films. Dolls has an experimental art house flow to it that elaborates on the complexities of relationships over time with three stories.
