Alex (Ceci Schmitz-Chuh) is sent by her adoptive mother to be an intern at a horse ranch after being caught selling and taking drugs. The sullen, angry teen, who cuts herself to cope, slowly starts to open up as Nina (Vanida Karun), a veteran horse trainer, begins to show her how to understand horses.
Work shy Alex is sent by her parents to work for summer at a horse ranch deep in the countryside. Being forced to work hard and care for something other than herself is her worst nightmare. However when the rather shy Kathy arrives she ignites feelings in Alex that go beyond friendship.
