By 1979/80, when Szulkin was developing and making his first feature film GOLEM, social unrest was peaking. The massive trade union Solidarity was formed in 1980, and in response, the government declared Martial Law in 1981.
The film is set in a terrorizing world of the future, where technology commands the movements of individuals, supervised by the doctors, carrying out a program to improve the human race. Beautiful, interesting, incredible cinema.
