    House

finally returned after a long winter's break and with it came a conclusion to the Tritter storyline. This was an excellent episode with a great medical case and the Tritter resolution doesn't leave us wanting more or with unanswered questions, so it was very solid. Although the way Tritter just walked away at the end was a little anticlimactic, the fact that he is finally walking away is welcome. However, House didn't really go through rehab and that was disappointing, if unsurprising.

The medical case itself was stellar. A fireman was having heart attacks every time his partner, a beautiful female, was around. The doctors finally came to the conclusion, with House's help, that he was dying of a broken heart. The only way to fix this, so they thought, was to erase his memories using electro-shock therapy. This is the first case where the writers have actually gone all the way to a truly unhappy ending in recent memory. With his memories gone, it was discovered he was still sick. The electro-shock therapy and taking away this man's identity was all so very unnecessary. Perhaps if House hadn't been dealing with his impending jail time, he might have figured out the solution earlier and saved the man's life. Instead, the man was still alive, but had no memory of who he was and who he loved.
