Degree of Murder (German: Mord und Totschlag, French: Vivre à tout prix) is a 1967 West German film, starring Anita Pallenberg and directed by Volker Schlöndorff. The film is mainly known because of the soundtrack composed by Brian Jones (founder and multi-instrumentalist of the Rolling Stones), Pallenberg's boyfriend at the time.

When a young woman accidentally kills her ex-lover during a fight, she decides to conceal the body. Unfortunately, however, our anti-hero is less than honorable and becomes involved with not one but both of the men she finds to help her with his disposal at a construction site.

Mar 17, 2017 · It may be a stretch to identify A Degree of Murder as a neat, direct parable of postwar German guilt, but there is regardless something both powerful and poignant about Marie’s inability (and by helping her dispose of the body, Fritz and Gunther’s also) to deal with the reality of their situation.
