They Met in a Taxi ★★ 1936 A young woman (Wray) gets involved in a jewelry heist after modeling some wedding dresses at the home of an aristocrat. She convinces her taxi driver to protect her from the law and hide her from her rich father as they uncover the truth behind the theft.
When taxi driver Jimmy Donlin drives his best customer, Clifton, an old society newspaperman, to the home of socialite Edna Fletcher, who is about to marry a foreigner, he is surprised when the bride runs out of the house and tells him that she is fleeing her wedding.
