Luis García Berlanga’s penultimate film is a raucous screwball satire in which a prison in Valencia hosts an event recognizing the political prisoners jailed during Franco’s reign.
It’s about an event which takes place in a prison set in Valencia on a day called “Everyone to jail”, an event to get together victims of the Francoist repression. It’s a movie whose humor hasn’t aged very well, since it’s too racist, too macho and homophobic.
