Question: I have a one-month-old Quarter Horse filly who injured her left eye at one and a half days of age, and who had to have the eye removed at a very reputable equine clinic. She is doing as well as she can. The vets who treated her said that she will be OK.

  3. Apr 2, 2024 · Absolutely. While it's true that depth perception may be slightly off-kilter, many one-eyed horses continue to excel in various disciplines, including jumping and dressage. They adapt to their altered vision, learning to trust their riders and their other senses more deeply. However, they may require a bit more patience and understanding from us.
