The Lady Vanishes. In Alfred Hitchcock's most quick-witted and devilish comic thriller, the beautiful Margaret Lockwood, traveling across Europe by train, meets a charming spinster (Dame May Whitty), who then seems to disappear into thin air.
Iris Henderson (Margaret Lockwood) has been vacationing in Mandrika, a small European country, and decides to return to London. Just prior to her departure, she meets and befriend the elderly Miss Froy (Dame May Whitty), a governess who will be travelling on the same train.
