The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is a non-profit zoo located near Powell in Liberty Township, Delaware County, Ohio, United States, north of the city of Columbus. The land lies along the eastern banks of the O'Shaughnessy Reservoir on the Scioto River, at the intersection of Riverside Drive and Powell Road.

Columbus Zoo in Ohio gained national recognition under its visionary zoo director Jack Hanna and has won accolades in the past decade. It spans over 580 acres and is home to 10,000 animals of 800 different species from around the world.

History. Founded in 1997 at THE Ohio State University,BTSD began life as a student sport club under the department of RecSports. It survived the razing of Larkins Hall, the building of the RPAC and other shifting priorities and politics. The pandemic saw a 3 year gap of training being offered, as people masked up and businesses shuttered.
The Zoo complex is a recreational and education destination that includes the 22-acre Zoombezi Bay water park and 18-hole Safari Golf Course. The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium also operates the Wilds, a 10,000-acre conservation center and safari park located in southeastern Ohio.
