Crowfoot was a warrior who fought in as many as nineteen battles and sustained many injuries, but he tried to obtain peace instead of warfare. Crowfoot is well known for his involvement in Treaty Number 7 and did much negotiating for his people.
Crowfoot, noted warrior, head chief of the Blackfoot people, and an advocate of peace and accommodation with whites. He tried to discourage tribal warfare, refused to join other First Nations peoples in attacks against the North West Mounted Police, and did not join in the North-West Rebellion in 1885.
