Duane and his mutant brother Belial escape from the hospital and find shelter in a home for freaks, where they face journalists and enemies. Belial falls in love with Eve, a mute girl, and Duane struggles with his feelings for Susan, a pregnant woman.
Having eluded the authorities after a series of grisly murders, the pair find sanctuary at the palatial home of Granny Ruth, an eccentric philanthropist who rallies the cause of "Unique Individuals". But even amongst "friends" the pair soon find themselves having to confront their murderous past.
Duane and his basket-bound mutant brother are taken in by a secret home for wayward freaks with journalists hot on their tail.
