Nouri Bouzid’s Bent Familia is a moving story of unique friendships between three educated women who, although anxious to live in a modern world, are nevertheless trapped by the limitations of their society.
She is allowed certain freedoms as a Muslim woman, but is generally not allowed out on her own. Her life becomes increasingly restricted, especially after she meets up with her old school friend Aida (Amel Hédhili). A mother of two, Aida took a firm stand not to tolerate her husband’s infidelities.
