Art Museum by the Zoo (Korean: 미술관 옆 동물원; RR: Misulgwan yup dongmulwon) is a 1998 South Korean film written and directed by Lee Jeong-hyang. Plot [ edit ] On leave from the military, Cheol-soo arrives at his girlfriend's apartment only to find it occupied by another woman, Choon-hee.
When they go to a park in the suburbs, Chul-soo wants to visit the zoo full of people and animals, life and activity. On the other hand, Choon-hee prefers the art museum. She likes to look at things at a distance; pictures in frames and life through her camera lens.

Part-autobiographical tale and part genre deconstruction, Art Museum By The Zoo works mainly because of two things. One, the romance is uncommon. Even if the conclusion is obvious, it doesn't develop along the lines of the usual three-act journey.
Feb 18, 2015 · Ably supported by popular actress Shim Eun-ha and newcomer Lee Sung-jae, director Lee Jeong-hyang manages to generate enough of an ambience to make ‘Art Museum By The Zoo’ a more than pleasant diversion. It may be accused of heading towards a dead-end, but the journey is where the enjoyment lies.
Through a misunderstanding, Chul-su arrives on the doorstep of Chun-hie. Having nowhere else to go, he forces her to allow him to stay until they can contact their mutual friend to solve the problem.
