Based on a novel by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa, the film follows the decline of a Sicilian aristocratic family in the 1860s. Starring Burt Lancaster, Alain Delon, and Claudia Cardinale, the film won the Palme d'Or at Cannes and was nominated for an Oscar.
