Lucky Star ( Japanese: らき☆すた, Hepburn: Raki Suta) is a Japanese four-panel comic strip manga series by Kagami Yoshimizu. It has been serialized in Kadokawa Shoten 's Comptiq magazine since December 2003. Cameo strips were published in other magazines such as Shōnen Ace and others.

The series centers on four main characters that are in their first year of high school: Konata Izumi, Kagami Hiiragi, Tsukasa Hiiragi, and Miyuki Takara. Konata is an intelligent, athletic girl but she’s a lazy student, mostly because of her obsession with manga and anime and her otaku lifestyle.
Lucky Star's story portrays the lives of several school girls attending a Japanese high school with a very loose humor tone. The setting is based on the town Kasukabe in Saitama Prefecture.
