Between 1956 and 1958, Richard Bartlett directed Jock Mahoney four times, twice in westerns (one of which, Joe Dakota is a real hidden gem) and, here in Slim Carter, in a sort of a spoof of western stardom, about a sleazy, vain, selfish actor playing a straight-laced, upright cowboy hero.
