Fox Faith (also spelled FoxFaith) was a brand of film studio 20th Century Fox targeting evangelical Christians. Established under 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment in 2006, Fox Faith acquired independent Christian-themed films for theatrical and video release.

John Ward may stumble across this deceased fox while walking through the forest to look for the Martin House. Based on the formation around it and the blood strewn throughout the area; it is presumably being used for some ritualistic purpose. Interacting with the corpse will cause the words "chaos reigns" to be heard, possibly by the fox.
•"Chaos Reigns" is a reference to Lars von Trier's movie "Antichrist", where a fox (that rips off its own flesh) says as such .
•The voice for "Chaos Reigns" is reused by thralls when they stab John to death. The phrase also reappears in the series in the Latin rendition "Pandemonium regnat".
The inclusion of this fox provides evidence that Gary and his cult just recently performed the Second Death on Amy and are gathering more sacrifices to put into the portal on her face. The ending shows that Gary noticed somebody tampered with the fox and blocked the exit of Snake Meadow Hill Road to catch the culprit. The cult was returning back to the Martin House and comes across Amy half-dead, because otherwise they would've blocked the exit of the road when they saw her almost bleeding to death to catch the person who did it.
