Carwyn Meurig Ellis (born 9 August 1973) is a Welsh musician, composer, arranger, multi-instrumentalist and record producer. He is known as the frontman of Welsh alternative band Colorama, [1] as a member of the Pretenders [2] and as a long-time collaborator with Edwyn Collins. [3] .
Carwyn Ellis is continuing his voyage into Latin Americana with the release of a new album with Rio 18, ‘Mas’. This album is a collection of songs sung in Welsh combined with distinct pop and South American flavours drawn from Bossa Nova, Cumbia, Samba and Tropicalismo styles.

Across The Water is the first solo album proper by Carwyn Ellis. Aside from one or two exceptions, it's a stripped back, mostly piano & vocal album, far removed from his psych pop records with Colorama or his recent Latin American excursions with Rio 18.
