Jonathan Edward "Jon" Brant (born February 20, 1955, in Chicago) is an American musician and business owner, best known as the bass player for the band Cheap Trick from 1982 to 1987.
Jon Brant became Petersson's steady replacement, after a year of Cheap Trick touring and recording with Pete Comita. All Shook Up (1980), produced by former Beatles producer George Martin, reached No. 24 on the charts and was certified gold.
Jon Brant joined Cheap Trick as the bassist after Pete Comita’s departure, playing with the band from 1981 to 1987, and briefly in 2004-2005. During his tenure, Brant played on albums like “One on One,” “Next Position Please” (1983), and “Standing on the Edge” (1985).
