The Buckinghams were an American rock band that emerged from Chicago in the mid-1960s. The band was formed in 1966 and originally called themselves The Pulsations. The original lineup consisted of Dennis Tufano (vocals), Carl Giammarese (guitar), Nick Fortuna (bass), Marty Grebb (keyboards), and John Poulos (drums).
After adding keyboard player Dennis Miccoli, the group won a Battle Of The Bands for a Chicago TV show called All Time Hits and became regulars on the show for fourteen weeks. The British invasion was happening at that time and the TV show wanted the band to have a more British sounding name.
