The Moody Blues were an English rock band formed in Birmingham in May 1964. The band initially consisted of drummer Graeme Edge, guitarist/vocalist Denny Laine, keyboardist/vocalist Mike Pinder, multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Ray Thomas, and bassist/vocalist Clint Warwick.
Clint Warwick was a member of the Moody Blues from 1964 to 1966, when they had their first hit with "Go Now". He left the band to pursue his family and carpentry career, and later returned to music with Steve Pearce.

Prompted by the Decca debt that they’d inherited and the sense that they should soldier on, Pinder, Thomas and Edge immediately sought two replacements.
