In 1966, Hopkins released The Revolutionary Piano of Nicky Hopkins, produced by Shel Talmy. His next solo project released was The Tin Man Was a Dreamer in 1973, under the aegis of producer David Briggs , best known for his work with Neil Young and Spirit .
Nicky touched people’s lives, not just with his extraordinary musical abilities, but with his courage and his wicked sense of humour. As long as the hundreds of albums he contributed to are still listened to, he will never be forgotten.
Nicky Hopkins died in Nashville on 6th September 1994 at the tragically early age of fifty, from complications related to his lifelong illnesses and frailty. There were obituaries in Time Magazine, most of the quality papers and in the music press.
