Sir Robert Bond KCMG PC (25 February 1857 – 16 March 1927) was the last Premier of Newfoundland Colony from 1900 to 1907 and the first prime minister of the Dominion of Newfoundland from 1907 to 1909 after the 1907 Imperial Conference conferred dominion status on the colony.
Yet today, Sir Robert Bond is remembered more as the name of a passenger ferry, than as one of the most influential politicians in the long and colourful history of Newfoundland. Two photos of a young Robert Bond.

Sir Robert Bond was the leader of the Liberal Party in Newfoundland and prime minister of the British colony from 1900 to 1909. Bond was elected to the Newfoundland House of Assembly in 1882. He became speaker in 1884 and colonial secretary in 1889 in the Liberal ministry.

Robert M. Bond (16 December 1929 – 26 April 1984) was a lieutenant general in the United States Air Force (USAF). He saw combat in Korea and three tours in Vietnam, before becoming an instructor and then vice-commander of an organization which developed and evaluated weaponry for the USAF.
