Together, they have a son named Sardar Khan Rind, who is the chairman of Rind Qaumi Ittehad (RQI), and a daughter named Myra Malik, who is married to the Pakistani politician Amir Malik.

Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind started his political career by joining the Pakistan Peoples Party in the 1980s. In March 1985, he became a Member of the Senate of Pakistan on a general seat from the Balochistan constituency. He assumed the seat till March 1988.
