George Washington Bacon III (August 4, 1946 – 14 February 14, 1976) was an American soldier and intelligence officer. He served as a Green Beret in the U.S. Army, Paramilitary Officer in the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and finally as a mercenary soldier.

Bacon was a medic in MACV-SOG, CIA Paramilitary Operative and later a mercenary during the Angolan civil war, ultimately dying during an operation against the MPLA in 1976. Bacon served in the Vietnam War as a Green Beret during 1968–1969. He was trained as a combat medic.
