Henry Symes Lehr (March 28, 1869 – January 3, 1929) was an American socialite during the Gilded Age who was dubbed "America's Court Jester".
He was born at Baltimore, Maryland, the son of the city's German Consul. It's not clear where he was educated nor when exactly he came to New York, but while still a young man he determined to establish himself among the doyennes of Gilded Age society from which to rule.
Henry Symes Lehr was born in 1869 in Maryland. He wanted to establish himself with the elite of society, throwing massive dinner parties. He even threw parties where the pets of rich people ate at a fully serviced table while wearing clothes.
