In 1933, after the death of his father, who was an employee of the Polish Post, his family moved to Kołomyja (Ukrainian: Kolomyia), where Tadeusz Brzeziński’s mother worked as a purchasing manager in a Polish boarding house and remarried. In Kolomyia the family survived the war.
