  1. Robert Cholmondeley, 1st Viscount Cholmondeley (died 22 May 1681) was an English peer. Lord Cholmondeley was the son of Hugh Cholmondeley and Mary Bodvile. Sir Hugh Cholmondeley was his grandfather and Robert Cholmondeley, 1st Earl of Leinster, his uncle.

  5. Two sons of Robert, 1st Viscount Cholmondeley and his wife Elizabeth (Cradock) have a memorial in the north aisle of the nave. Both died while attending Westminster School. The white marble monument is decorated with sprays and drapery with two cartouches of arms.

  6. He was created Viscount Cholmondeley of Kells in 1628 and Baron Cholmondeley of Wich Malbank (i.e. Nantwich in Cheshire) on 1 September 1645. On 5 March 1646, he was created Earl of Leinster in Ireland.
