Austin Churton Fairman (15 November 1924 – 4 April 1997), who used the name Churton Fairman but was more widely known under the pseudonym Mike Raven in the 1960s and early 1970s, was a British radio disc jockey, actor, sculptor, sheep farmer, writer, TV presenter and producer, ballet dancer, flamenco guitarist and photographer.

Mike Raven's R & B show ran for 4 years on Radio One, from 1967 onwards. For most, this was the only way to hear new soul releases at the time. His style sounds somewhat laidback nowadays, but the music is great.

Born in London in 1924, Mike Raven was one of the original Radio 1 presenters. His shows established a major influence in bringing Blues and S oul music to a British audience. After serving as a Lieutenant in WWII, Mike had a variety of jobs including ballet dancer, conjuror and TV executive!
