The Second Saint Petersburg Gymnasium is one of the oldest schools in Saint Petersburg, Russia. It was founded in 1805 by Emperor Alexander I. The Gymnasium is located in the Admiralteysky District of Saint Petersburg.
At the corner of Kazanskaya Street and Grivtsova Lane there is a spectacular building at No. 27/12. History says that at the beginning of the 19th century there were district government buildings here.

At the turn of the 20th century, St. Petersburg had 15 secondary educational establishments – classical, modern and military schools. Among the teachers of physics and mathematics we see names which became famous far beyond the history of secondary education.

Biography. Statue of Kristofari near the headquarters of Sberbank. He was born into a family of an artist from Italian origin. [2] In 1820, after graduating from The Second Saint Petersburg Gymnasium, he entered the service of the Loan Treasury and in 1823 was appointed assistant director.
