Guðni Thorlacius Jóhannesson ( Icelandic pronunciation: [ˈkvʏðnɪ ˈtʰɔrlaˌsiʏs ˈjouːhanɛsɔn] ; born 26 June 1968) [1] is an Icelandic historian and politician currently serving as the sixth president of Iceland since 2016. He was elected to the presidency in 2016 with 39% of the vote and was reelected in 2020 with 92.2% of the vote. [2] .
