Don Iwerks was a technician and engineer who worked on many Disney films and attractions, including Mary Poppins, Star Tours, and Epcot Center. He also developed cameras, projectors, and systems for giant-screen and 3D theaters, and received the Gordon E. Sawyer Award from the Academy.
Don Iwerks has received numerous acclaims for his technological advancements, including the prestigious Gordon E. Sawyer Award at the 1996 Academy Awards® and Iwerks Entertainment receiving the 1999 Academy Award® Scientific Technical Achievement for the Iwerks 8/70 Linear Loop projection system.
