Sacred Heart The parish school opened in September 1917 with 152 students and became the second Catholic grade school in Marshfield. In 1996, with the development of the middle school, Sacred Heart went from K-8 to K-6.
The first St. Charles class met in September 1923 in an extra classroom in the old Sacred Heart School, one mile north of downtown Columbus. Five Diocesan priests comprised the first faculty to teach 14 students.

Sacred Heart Church is a parish church of the Diocese of Columbus in the Italian Village neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. The parish was founded in 1875, making it the third-oldest parish in the diocese. The current Tudor Gothic church was completed in 1923.
