- Our School
St George's School, Ascot is an independent girls' boarding and day school in Ascot, Berkshire, England. It was founded as a boys' school but later became a girls' school.
Each September around 70 new pupils join St George’s as part of a happy community of individuals. The girls develop a love of learning throughout their time here, eventually leaving to move on to a wonderfully wide range of careers as confident, capable and connected young women, equipped and eager to meet the challenges that lie ahead.
The rich history of St George’s masterfully illustrates how education for women developed and flourished throughout the 20th century. Whilst it was founded as a prestigious boys’ prep school in 1877, the turn of the century brought a new owner and a new identity, as a finishing school for girls, infamous for their red cloaks and boater hats.

St George's Ascot is a thriving independent boarding and day school for girls aged 11-18. Pupils come from near and far to the school which was recently awarded the highest grade of 'excellent in all areas' in the Independent Schools Inspectorate's integrated report.
