St. Joseph's Institution ( SJI) is an independent Catholic educational institution in Singapore. Founded in 1852 by the De La Salle Brothers, it is the first Catholic school and the third oldest school in the country.
Our People. SJI is currently headed by Principal, Mr Justin Arul Pierre . Taking care of the learning needs of more than 2,000 students in SJI are 175 teaching staff comprising Heads of Department, Heads of Level and teachers and allied educators. The students and teachers are assisted by 41 administrative and support staff.

St Joseph's Institution was founded by Father Jean-Marie Beurel who arrived in Singapore at the time when the Chinese were building the Thian Hock Keng Temple in Telok Ayer Street. As early as 1833 the Catholics worshipped in a small chapel 20 metres by 10 metres in Bras Basah Road.
