- The Murphy Elementary School Student Council hosted its second annual Support Our Troops Item Drive in mid-May. The items collected are donated to Michigan Military Moms who send packages to men and women serving our country from the state of Michigan. Items collected included socks, shampoo, granola bars, mints, gum, and Michigan memorabilia to be sent around the world. Read more
- Ralya Elementary School held its annual "Race For Ralya" on Sunday, May 19. The race is a fundraiser for the school and featured over 350 participants. Runners could choose either a 5K race or a 1 mile fun run, and all participants received a "Race For Ralya" t-shirt!
- Students from the Haslett Middle School Conservation Club were at the Meridian Township Farmer's Market on May 18 to educate the community about improving recycling practices. The students planned, researched, and designed a brochure, which they used as a talking point with visitors to the market.
- Congratulations to the 25 Haslett High School student athletes who will be participating in athletics at the college level next year! A ceremonial college signing event was held in the Performing Arts Center on May 16 to recognize these seniors. The event was streamed live and is available for viewing on the Haslett Media Productions YouTube channel.
- Congratulations to Haslett High School senior, Chyna Bach, for winning the Congressional Arts Competition for Michigan's 8th District! U.S. Rep. Elissa Slotkin held a reception for the student artist participants at her Lansing office on May 11. - Congratulations to the Haslett/Williamston varsity boys lacrosse team for winning the CAAC Tournament Championship! Haslett/Williamston defeated Lansing Catholic to win the championship in a game at Okemos High School on May 14. In addition to winning the tournament, Haslett/Williamston finished the regular season as CAAC Champions. Congratulations on an outstanding season!
- On Friday, May 10, Special Olympians from Ralya Elementary School competed in track and field events at Michigan State University. Athletes who participate in Special Olympics improve physical fitness and motor skills, develop self-esteem and confidence, make friends and increase family support. In addition to track and field events, they also competed in softball.
- Murphy Elementary School received a $500 grant from Delta Dental during the school's Monday Morning Meeting on May 13. In March, Delta Dental representatives visited second grade classrooms and read to students as part of March is Reading Month. Mrs. Hamilton's second grade class won this grant to be used for the Library Media Center. Read more
