Michel Strogoff is a 1975 French / Italian / German miniseries directed by Jean-Pierre Decourt. It is based on the novel of the same name by Jules Verne.
Journey across Siberia. Michael Strogoff, a 30-year-old native of Omsk, is a courier for Tsar Alexander II of Russia. The Tartar khan (prince), Feofar Khan, incites a rebellion and separates the Russian Far East from the mainland, severing telegraph lines.
In Siberia Strogoff is in great danger. His companion Nadia is being abducted by rebel leader Ogareff and his gypsy friend Sangarre. She is to reveal the hiding place of the courier. Strogoff himself is scarcely alive after a Tatar raid.
Michael Strogoff, the emissary of Czar Alexander II, travels from Moscow to Irkutsk in Eastern Siberia, where he is to warn the czar's brother, Grand Duke Dimitri, of the imminent arrival of Tartar hordes led by the traitor and rebel Ivan Ogareff and the Tartar prince Feofar Khan.
